Holiday farm in Trapani - Baglio Rindinella

The term "baglio" (in Sicilian "bagghiu") comes from Arabian language "bahah" (courtyard) and from Latin "ballium" (courtyard surrounded by high walls). This is the typical Sicilian farms, where once the workers of the feuds found relief. They were economically self-sufficient organizations, controlled by the owners of the latifundium, that through this way could control all the branches of the farm, as we can say today: from the stable to the accommodations, from the harvest activity to the irrigation, etc.

The "baglios" had several rooms to host the peasants and their families. The  flooring was built by slabs of stone, or by cobblestone placed in herringbone pattern or in knife. The structure was surrounded by the external walls, with only one big entrance.

The holiday farm Baglio Rindinella holds the majority of this characteristics, renovated and adopted to the new exigencies respecting the philosophy of hospitality and comfort in the name of the real and true Sicilian hospitality.

With this attitude were built 8 big and comfortable rooms each equipped with inside bathroom, old style furnitures and almost all the rooms have a wonderful view on Erice, Trapani or Egadi Islands.

Among the services included in price and on demand, there are:

  • inside bathroom with shower box , soaps and creams set and hairdryer;
  • towels and bed linen;
  • independent access h24;
  • internet on demand;
  • pets allowed;
  • daily cleanings;
  • breakfast;
  • private car parking;
  • small vegetable garden;
  • mini-farm with mules, goats, hens, etc.
  • productions of olives, oil, vegetables, cereals, etc.

The restaurant

Our offer is completed by a typical restaurant/pizzeria, specialized in local Sicilian cookery, meat and fish. Our chef is specialized in revisiting the typical dishes in a modern way.

The majority of the prepared dishes are realized  with the products of our farm. Baglio Rindinella join the philosophy "mile zero", preferring if it is possible the local products.

  • The typical menù costs from 20 euro per person, drinks included  (except some periods of the year);
  • The half board service has an additional cost of 20 euro per person, (children a la carte).

Our restaurant is on the ground floor in the inner part of the principal structure of the baglio, and it can also host banquets and special events.
